Manday Receives Unprecedented 397-Year Prison Sentence in K-Park Mega Fraud Case

In a landmark ruling, the Criminal Court of the Maldives has sentenced Hassan “Manday” Mamdhooh to 397 years in prison for his involvement in the K-Park Residency fraud case. This marks the longest prison sentence ever handed down in the country’s history. Manday was found guilty of 46 counts of theft, 44 counts of fraud, three counts of providing false documents, and one count of money laundering. The court also fined him MVR 30 million and ordered him to repay all victims who lost money in the fraudulent scheme. Additionally, his penthouse was confiscated by the state as part of the verdict. In the same case, Manday’s accomplice, Jaishan Saeed, was sentenced to 159 years in prison. The court’s decision highlights the severity of the offenses and serves as a stern warning against large-scale fraud and corruption.
