The Manhattan Grand Hotel in Hulhumalé is now accepting bookings for conferences, exhibitions, and corporate events, with operations scheduled to begin next month. The 5-star property is slated for completion by mid-August and aims to become a primary hub for large-scale gatherings in the Maldives. Developed and operated by World Business Pvt Ltd, the hotel will feature 162 rooms, a banquet hall, a multi-purpose conference center, and a swimming pool. To cater to a diverse international clientele, the property will host four international food and beverage brands, alongside a gym and a full-service spa. The hotel's Chief Operations Officer stated that the facility is designed to serve the specific needs of government institutions, state-owned enterprises, corporations, and international organizers. Its strategic location will include a direct link to the new terminal of Velana International Airport (VIA), enhancing accessibility for business travelers. The hotel is already in negotiations with 12 airlines expected to sign service agreements. The project represents a significant financial arrangement with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC). Under the current agreement, HDC will receive USD 11 million in property value and an annual rental income of USD 933,852. Additionally, the state is projected to collect USD 2.5 million in annual taxes from the hotel's operations. Beyond hospitality, World Business Pvt Ltd has committed to broader community infrastructure through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. The company has been awarded a long-term contract to manage the electricity, water, and maintenance services for several key public facilities, including the USD 7 million Youth Centre, Media Village, Medical College, and Heritage College.
