Economy ·
The Maldives Civil Aviation Authority has granted Manta Air a D-1 rating, recognizing the airline's significant advancements in operational and technical capabilities. This certification authorizes Manta Air to provide Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services, making it one of the few airlines in the Maldives to offer such specialized services. The D-1 rating designates Manta Air's NDT workshop as a certified provider, enabling it to conduct inspections for other airlines and aviation agencies in the country. Ahmed Maumoon, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Manta Air, highlighted the certification as a pivotal milestone in the airline's growth. He emphasized Manta Air's commitment to enhancing its engineering facilities and technical expertise, aiming to set new service standards and strengthen national pride. Pablo Alves, Head of Engineering at Manta Air, noted that in-house NDT will improve efficiency, reduce costs, and expedite critical inspections. The certification is expected to reduce reliance on third-party providers, lower maintenance costs, minimize aircraft downtime, and elevate safety standards across the aviation sector.
