Maziya Crowned Champions of First Overseas Baibala Tournament

Maziya Sports and Recreation has made history by winning the first baibala tournament ever held outside the Maldives. The tournament took place in Malaysia and was organized by the Maldives Association for Development Initiative (MADI) in collaboration with the Baibala Association of Maldives. Maziya secured the championship by defeating Zepo Sports Club in the final, winning both games of the best-of-two series. The tournament, titled the 'Baibala Challenge,' featured five teams comprising top Maldivian baibala players, including some who had previously won the 'Mr. Baibala' title. The 'Mr. Baibala' award for this historic tournament was given to Mohamed Naffa (Markee) of Zepo Sports Club. MADI stated that the decision to host the tournament in Malaysia was driven by a desire to introduce the distinctly Maldivian sport of baibala to a foreign audience, as it had never been played abroad before. The event also aimed to create opportunities for the Maldivian community living in Malaysia.
