Shamaau Shareef, Deputy Coordinator of the Maldivian Democratic Party's (MDP) Public Protection Committee, has accused the government of carrying out major projects without public announcement, branding such secrecy as fraud and crime. Speaking during Raajje TV's 'Land of the Maldivians for the Maldivians' coverage, Shamaau expressed concern that the government is conducting major projects secretly to pave the way for fraud and corruption. He highlighted that the Rasmale project is one such project being handled without clear policy or announcement. Shamaau noted that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, who previously worked closely with the media and held large press conferences, has not given any interview to the media regarding the Rasmale project. He said that only Housing Minister Dr. Abdullah Muthalib attended the signing procedures of the project, and that this alone reveals the fraud present in the undertaking.
