MIB launches 'Growing with Binga - Binga Champs' promotion for children

Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has launched a special promotion named “Growing with Binga - Binga Champs” for children using its Binga accounts. The initiative coincides with the second anniversary of the Binga service, which was launched in November 2024. The bank said the main objective of the promotion is to appreciate children who regularly save money and build good financial habits from a young age. Under the promotion, three children who are working to improve financial literacy through regular saving will be selected, and each will receive an iPad and a special commemorative letter. Parents can nominate children through MIB’s digital media channels and via QR codes at bank outlets. Only children who currently use Binga accounts can apply, and each child’s name can be submitted only once. Nominations are open from today until November 8, 2026. The Binga account, introduced by MIB to financially educate children, allows the opening of three accounts – Binga TRX, Binga Save, and Binga Invest – which can be used under parental supervision. MIB said it will continue to promote digital banking innovations that benefit the public.
