Mic Masters Junior Puts Young Presenters on National Television
Politics ·
Public Service Media has launched Mic Masters Junior, a reality television program showcasing young presenting talent across the Maldives. The initiative, developed in partnership with the Maldives Media Institute and Television Maldives, provides children aged 8 to 14 with a national platform to demonstrate their hosting and public speaking abilities.
From 192 initial registrants, 52 candidates advanced to the televised audition rounds through a pre-casting selection process. The program premiered on December 5, with the second episode scheduled for December 12. The primary competition phase begins on December 19, marking the formal progression of the contest.
The judging format combines scores from expert panelists with public voting, which will open during mid-month broadcasts. The rewards extend beyond the immediate competition, with top performers securing one-year contracts with Public Service Media and academic placement at the Maldives Media Institute. Winners will also receive consumer electronics and monetary prizes.
This initiative represents a significant investment in developing media talent among Maldivian youth, providing both immediate recognition and long-term career pathways in broadcasting and communication fields.
