Milandhoo Council Warns of Police Action Against Roadside Parking
Local News ·
The Milandhoo Council has announced that vehicles parked on roads will face police intervention and legal action.
The decision follows observations that certain individuals on the island have been parking vehicles on the roads, an issue brought to the council's attention.
According to the council, parking on roads causes significant inconvenience to pedestrians walking along the streets.
The council also reminded the public that under the Maldives Road Traffic Act, parking any kind of vehicle on the roads is strictly prohibited.
As a result, the Milandhoo Council has requested that vehicles be parked only in designated parking zones and areas specifically allocated for parking on the island.
The council has repeatedly stated that legal action will be taken against those who park on the roads in violation of these instructions, following scrutiny by the police.
