Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed has said that the purpose of the Maldivian Entrepreneurship Exhibition has been fully achieved. He made the remarks in a special interview with PSM News while sharing the success of the Maldivian Entrepreneurship Exhibition 2026, described as the largest exhibition held in the country so far. The exhibition was held under the leadership and guidance of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, with the aim of increasing production and expanding businesses in the Maldives by focusing on entrepreneurship. It is the largest exhibition held in the country focused on the field of entrepreneurship. Minister Saeed said the success of the exhibition would be best understood by those who visited it, and that what was seen was the hard work done by a section of Maldivians across a very wide scope. He noted that people from all atolls of the country participated, and that many demonstrated highly constructive and productive efforts using the hopes, opinions and thoughts of many. Highlighting the expectations of participating parties, the Minister said that previously those who had not entered the business sector aimed to undertake some business with the help of such opportunities. He also noted that while those currently running businesses wish to expand them further, there are also new participants joining the exhibition for the first time. He said what all these parties now desire most is to find a good market for their efforts. "If someone brings something to the exhibition, the exhibition is very successful. We received many requests to extend the period and spend more time on this matter. This means not stopping this matter here. However, this will continue to be held for some period. From all this, we understand its success," Minister Saeed said. The Minister said that finding additional markets for these products to boost the economy is also an important goal of the President. Accordingly, he stated that by the year 2030, contributing 15 percent to the country's national production through the creative economy is a government target. The exhibition was held every day from the evening and night of the 25th of last month until the end of the 2nd of this month, and is the largest and most attended event of its kind held in the country in recent history. At the exhibition, the richness of Maldivian cultural and artisanal works was displayed comprehensively. In addition, information about various Maldivian food products and different services provided by companies was offered at various stalls.
