Local News ·
The Ministry of Health has announced the holding of a special 'Health and Family Expo' under the slogan 'Everyone together for a healthy and happy generation.' The three-day expo is scheduled to take place at Hulhumalé Central Park from Tuesday until the end of Thursday. The ministry noted that the public showed great interest in the expo in the past two years as well. More than 60 stalls will be featured, including hospitals and clinics in the Malé area, regional hospitals in the atolls, as well as associations and groups. The main purpose of the expo is to raise public awareness about healthy and happy habits in health and social aspects, and to provide necessary information to individuals in vulnerable situations and on gender equality. The ministry will also provide information about national social health insurance schemes and offer services from all related institutions and health service providers under one roof. There will also be an opportunity for accountability by addressing complaints related to institutions. Designed for families to spend happy time together, the expo will feature activities for children such as health check-ups, information on healthy food and child growth, vaccination and health information, as well as various entertainment activities. Health screenings specifically for foreigners, special activities for youth, information on mental health, and teaching good eating habits with healthy food stalls are also included. Additionally, music shows and entertainment activities like scary houses will be part of the expo. The ministry also held a special 'Health Expo' last year to increase public awareness for building a healthy generation.
