MNDF Coastguard Completes 71 Emergency Sea Evacuations in One Week

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coastguard conducted 71 emergency medical evacuations by sea last week, providing critical transport for patients requiring urgent treatment across the archipelago, the military announced in a recent report. Utilizing a combination of coastguard squadrons and specialized sea ambulances, the operations ensured that residents in remote regions received timely medical intervention. Data from the military reveals that the First Squadron managed the bulk of the workload, completing 48 missions. The Third Squadron carried out 13 evacuations, while the Fourth and Second Squadrons completed six and three missions, respectively. Additionally, the specialized Sea Ambulance E9 54 was deployed to assist in one critical evacuation.
