MNDF Prepares to Clear Bandeyri Koshi Residents for Flat Construction

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has announced preparations to clear residents from Bandeyri Koshi 1 to make way for a housing development project. The project, first announced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in May, aims to construct flats to house military personnel and police officers. According to an MNDF statement, Bandeyri Koshi 1 will be redeveloped first, with current residents receiving priority for accommodation once construction is completed. The remaining flats will be allocated to additional police and military personnel to address growing housing demand. The MNDF stated that it has begun sharing information with current residents and addressing their concerns as part of the preparatory phase.
