Education ·
Dr. Anara Naeem, the Member of Parliament for Hura constituency, stated that the Education Bill submitted to the People's Majlis is a bill introduced by the government to ensure that no child is left behind in education. Speaking during today's session while delivering the concluding remarks on the initial debate of the bill, Anara said that this bill was introduced by the government to ensure that no student is left behind, and it is a bill submitted to provide the right to education for all children without leaving any child behind in education. The member also stated that this bill was submitted to provide education through a proper system for children who require special assistance and those with psychological conditions. Anara remarked, noting that when this bill becomes law, it will be established under a very good system with clearly defined procedures. The member stated that, in reality, the Maldives' educational system is currently recognized and accepted even at an international standard. She further remarked that one evidence of this is that students from the country are still winning medals in international arenas and achieving high results in higher secondary examinations. The member expressed the hope that as the committee reviews the bill submitted to the People's Majlis and conducts its study phase, alongside consulting relevant parties, public opinions and consultations should be sought so that the bill can be studied thoroughly and become law in a manner that comprehensively strengthens the educational system.
