Local News ·
MTCC has begun asphalt paving work on the third segment of Ameenee Magu in Male', as part of the ongoing project to redevelop the road. The work commenced today, starting from the section between Izzuddin Magu and the Korkendi junction. According to MTCC, the aim is to complete the asphalt work by the end of today. Once asphalt paving is completed, the painting of road markings for traffic use will begin immediately. The project was awarded to MTCC in June after the previous asphalt surface was damaged in several areas, causing difficulties for commuters. The road segment from the Voice of Maldives building to Dharumavantha Hospital has been repaired and opened for public use. The overall redevelopment of Ameenee Magu began in July 2022 under the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and the final unfinished section was completed and the road fully opened in early 2024.
