The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed agreements to undertake key infrastructure projects across five islands, focusing on harbor development and coastal protection.
State Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, Ismail Hameed, and MTCC’s Deputy Managing Director, Ahmed Shareef Abdul Rahman Yoosuf, formalized the contracts. The projects are geographically diverse, spanning several atolls.
The awarded work includes harbor development in Mundoo, Laamu Atoll, and shore protection initiatives in Hoandeddhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, and Nilandhoo, Gaafu Alifu Atoll. Further contracts cover the shore protection and development of the swimming area and boat dockyard in Landhoo, Noonu Atoll, alongside harbor, jetty construction, and swimming area development in Angolhitheemu, Raa Atoll.
MTCC, a leading contractor in the nation, brings extensive experience in implementing similar infrastructure developments throughout the Maldives. These projects are expected to enhance maritime connectivity, protect island communities from coastal erosion, and improve local amenities.
