MTCC to Build $45 Million Integrated Court Complex in Hulhumale’

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded a USD 45.3 million contract to construct a new, integrated Male’ Court Complex in Hulhumale’. The agreement was formalized during a ceremony at the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development. The contract was signed by State Minister Yoosuf Abdul Ghafoor on behalf of the government and MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudi. Designed as a 14-story facility, the complex will serve as a centralized hub for the nation's judiciary. It will house the High Court, Civil Court, Criminal Court, Drug Court, Juvenile Court, and Family Court, as well as the Department of Judicial Administration. By consolidating these key judicial bodies under one roof, the government aims to streamline legal proceedings and significantly improve public access to judicial services. MTCC is tasked with completing the ambitious project within 720 days. The company brings extensive experience to the development, having successfully delivered numerous large-scale infrastructure and structural projects across the archipelago. The move to Hulhumale’ reflects a broader strategy to decentralize essential services from the congested capital of Malé and provide modern, efficient facilities for both legal professionals and the general public.
