Health ·
Maldives Therashi Hospitals Group (MTHG) has appointed Ibraheem Abdurrazzaq Haleem, Chief Executive Officer of Darmaavanthu Hospital, as the highest-ranking official at the ministerial level to manage the facilities under the oversight of MTHG’s governing board. Haleem confirmed the appointment to Adu News. It has been determined that Darmaavanthu Hospital will serve as the main headquarters for centralization efforts in MTHG’s hybrid centralized model, coordinating with the facilities under the governing board's oversight. Eighteen members have been appointed to MTHG’s governing board, with Dr. Abdul Aziz Yusuf agreed upon as chairman. The facilities under MTHG’s oversight include Darmaavanthu Hospital, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Hulhumale Hospital, Vilimalé Hospital, Maldives Blood Services, Thalassemia and Adha Hemoglobinopathy Center, Kudahuffushi Regional Hospital, Addu Equatorial Hospital, Unngufaru Regional Hospital, Dr. Abdisamad Memorial Hospital, Gan Regional Hospital, Fuvahmulah Hospital, and hospitals in the Malé area. Previously, hospitals in the Malé area were managed by the board of Malé City Group of Hospitals (MCGH) under Haleem’s supervision; however, MTHG has abolished that board, along with the governing boards of government tier-two hospitals in various islands. Haleem has previously held senior positions in government-partly-owned companies including MTC and Maldives Ports Limited.
