Member Maaroof Zakir of the Kaendhu constituency of the People's Majlis has stated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu wishes to assess how many Maldivian citizens come out against campaigns opposing the handing over of Maldivian land to foreign parties. Speaking at an emergency event held on Thursday night under the name "Maldivian Land for Maldivians," Member Maaroof said that a very senior leader of the ruling PNC's parliamentary group made this statement in front of him. Accordingly, Member Maaroof noted that the PNC member stated that President Muizzu wishes to assess how many citizens oppose these activities or come out against this matter, whether there is an opportunity to continue this activity properly, and that those individuals are certain that Maldivian citizens will not participate in this activity. "I want to ask from the Maldivian citizens that President Muizzu made that statement regarding opposing the settlement of Zionists on this land and opposing giving Maldivian land to foreign parties for free, for vacant unneeded 99 years or for life, to show that Maldivian citizens opposed this matter by challenging that statement made by President Muizzu, therefore please join us on November 13," Maaroof Zakir said. Furthermore, he requested that all those who wish to oppose the settlement of foreign parties in Malé or on Maldivian land, and all citizens who wish to call for visible or invisible votes on this issue, participate in the large rally to be held on Friday night, November 13, at 8:30. Member Maaroof also called for as many people as possible to use the logo posted on social media saying no to this project.
