Multipurpose hall and office building to ease space crisis at No. Nilandhoo School
Education ·
The government is addressing the severe space constraint at No. Nilandhoo School in Haa Dhaalu Atoll by building a multipurpose hall and a new office building. The school, which serves over 600 students from Foundation to Grade 10, currently operates in two shifts because of the shortage of classrooms. The multipurpose hall project, entrusted to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), is progressing rapidly with concrete works underway, and the government has also decided to construct a new office building for the school.
In an interview with PSM News, No. Nilandhoo Council President Ahmed Amir highlighted that changing the school to a single shift is the greatest dream of the island's residents. He noted that the new office building will resolve difficulties in administrative work, and together with additional classrooms, will bring modern development to the school. The projects are seen as a symbol of government and company responsibility to raise educational standards in the islands and provide a conducive environment for students and staff.
