MWSC Senior Officials Complete Leadership Programme to Enhance Public Service Delivery

Senior officials from the Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) have completed a specialized Leadership Enhancement Programme held at the Girifushi Training Centre. The initiative was designed to equip the company's top management with the critical skills necessary to navigate the complexities of utility management in the Maldives.
According to MWSC Managing Director Hussain Fahmy, the core objectives of the programme were to strengthen teamwork, instill discipline, and foster strategic thinking and determination among the organization's leadership. By focusing on these pillars, the company aims to create a more cohesive management layer capable of executing long-term operational goals.
Fahmy emphasized that the knowledge and experience acquired during the training will directly translate into improved decision-making processes and enhanced workplace capabilities. He noted that developing future-ready leaders is essential for the company's evolution, asserting that these improvements will ultimately strengthen MWSC’s overall operations and elevate the quality of water and sewerage services provided to the public.
The programme was conducted with the support of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). During the conclusion of the event, Fahmy expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Defence and National Service, as well as the MNDF leadership, for their cooperation in facilitating the training.
Additionally, the Managing Director praised President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, who also serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the MNDF, for his ongoing commitment to promoting leadership development across various sectors of the country. The move reflects a broader national trend of integrating disciplined leadership frameworks into state-owned enterprises to improve governance and efficiency.
