MWSC to formally take over water and sewerage services in Addu and Fuvahmulah tomorrow

Local News ·
The state-owned water utility company MWSC has announced that it will formally take over the water and sewerage services in Addu City and Fuvahmulah City starting tomorrow, and will begin billing. The transition follows the government's decision to dissolve the water company FENAKA and transfer its electricity services to STELCO while moving all water-related operations to MWSC. In a statement, MWSC said that as part of the handover, its employees will visit homes in the two cities wearing official uniforms to take meter readings. The company has requested residents to ensure that meter areas are easily accessible for its staff. MWSC also urged customers to download and register on its mobile application, available on Google Play and Apple App Store, to conveniently access its services. The company assured customers that there would be no disruption to services during the transition to MWSC. An agreement to transfer the water and sewerage services of Addu and Fuvahmulah to MWSC was signed in late September.
