MWSC Vows to Resolve Water Issues in Addu and Fuhulhumale Before Ramadan
Local News ·
MWSC Managing Director Hussain Fahmi has stated that water issues in Addu and Fuhulhumale City will be resolved before the onset of next Ramadan. Fahmi made these remarks during an interview with PSM News on his ongoing tour to engage with residents about the services provided in those areas.
During the tour, MWSC has arranged to meet all customers seeking services, helping them install the MWSC mobile app and educating them on current meter readings. Fahmi noted that while there were previous public concerns about service provision in the two regions, now that MWSC has begun delivering services, public expectations are high. He said that by addressing these concerns and improving water services before Ramadan, the service standard in Addu and Fuhulhumale can match that of Malé.
Fahmi emphasized that public feedback would guide further improvements, stating: "With MWSC taking over the water supply services, public expectation is high. We will fulfill that public expectation." Work is underway to train employees and regulate existing machinery to provide services at the same standard as Malé. Water and electricity services in these areas were previously provided by Fenaka, but after the decision to dissolve Fenaka, MWSC has taken over.
