Nazeem dismissed as RDC Managing Director; interim management handed to Saudee as company heads for dissolution

Ibrahim Nazeem has been dismissed from the position of Managing Director and removed from the Board of Directors of the Road Development Corporation (RDC), which has been decided to be dissolved.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) said that the running of RDC has been temporarily handed to DCP (retired) Saudee in place of Nazeem. Saudee is currently the Managing Director of MTCC.
MTCC is the company to which the government has decided to hand over the work of that entity after RDC is dissolved. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced last September the decision to dissolve RDC, which was established six years ago to develop roads in the islands of the Maldives, and to transfer its work under MTCC.
The President said the decision was made in that manner because government expenditures were increasing due to the existence of other companies working in the same field.
Nazeem was appointed to RDC in July last year. Prior to that, he held the position of State Minister at the Construction Ministry. He had previously served as Deputy Minister at the Housing Ministry. Before that, he also worked at the Sports Ministry.
