New Four-Storey Police Accommodation Opens in Laamu Gan

A new four-storey accommodation building for police officers in Gan, Laamu Atoll, has been officially inaugurated, marking a significant step to improve officer welfare and operational effectiveness in the atolls.
The facility was opened by the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Farhad Fikry. The ceremony was attended by senior Maldives Police Service (MPS) officials and officers of various ranks.
Constructed by Venza Company Pvt. Ltd., the modern block can house up to 50 officers. Its commissioning provides a long-awaited solution to previous housing challenges for personnel stationed in Gan, directly improving their living conditions and quality of life.
This project is a key part of the government's broader initiative to develop MPS facilities and build critical infrastructure across the atolls. By ensuring proper accommodation, the government aims to strengthen police services, boost morale, and support the expansion of quality policing and community safety services nationwide.
