New 'My Career Portal' Launches to Streamline Recruitment and Youth Employment

The Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology has officially launched the 'My Career Portal,' a centralized digital platform designed to modernize the Maldives' employment market and career development services. Inaugurated by Minister Ali Ihusaan, the portal aims to create a more efficient ecosystem by connecting jobseekers, employers, and career advisers in one accessible space. Developed by the National Career Service (NCS) and funded through the World Bank-supported 'SAILS' project, the portal serves as more than a job board. It integrates comprehensive resources to help users plan their professional futures, offering direct access to trained counselors who provide personalized guidance on goal setting and skill identification. One of the platform's standout features is the career pathway planning tool. Users can collaborate with experts to build a professional roadmap that organizes their educational qualifications, training, and work experience. This allows individuals to visualize their achievements while clearly identifying the specific skills they need to acquire to reach long-term career milestones. To accelerate the hiring process, the portal utilizes an automated matching system. By analyzing a user's existing skill set, the platform suggests relevant vacancies, reducing the time and effort required for jobseekers to find suitable roles and for employers to find qualified candidates. This initiative aligns with the government's broader strategy to prioritize Maldivians within the local labor market. It is a key component of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge to cultivate a highly skilled young workforce, fitting within the overarching goals of the 'Maldives 2.0' agenda to enhance national human capital and economic resilience.
