No Evidence Found in Allegations Against Former HDC MD Fazul, Says Prosecutor General

The Prosecutor General's Office has stated that there is no evidence to support the allegations of financial misconduct against former Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed. The allegations suggested that Fazul and the IT department's head, Abdulla Shuhoodh, had deleted documents related to the 'Binveriya' housing scheme. However, an investigation found no proof of any documents being deleted or manipulated. Fazul was suspended from his position on December 21, 2024, amid the allegations. Further inquiries revealed that a substantial amount of money was spent on a yacht service, allegedly linked to Fazul, but no concrete evidence was found to implicate him in any wrongdoing.
