No increase in any tax next year: Finance Minister

Politics ·
The government has announced that no tax will be raised next year as a measure to increase state revenue. This was revealed by Finance Minister Hassan Zeer while presenting the proposed state budget for next year at a session of the People's Majlis held on Thursday. Minister Zeer said that instead of raising taxes to increase revenue, efforts would be made to make the state's tax system more robust and efficient compared to now. Accordingly, Minister Zeer also stated that priority would be given to closing loopholes or gaps currently existing within the system and increasing compliance with laws and regulations in tax payment. While the government has decided not to raise any tax next year as a means to increase state revenue, under this government, green tax, TGS, airport development fee, and departure tax have already been increased to boost revenue.
