Nominations Open for Hotelier Maldives Awards 2026 with Expanded Categories

Hotelier Maldives has officially opened nominations for the upcoming Hotelier Maldives Awards 2026, with Bestbuy Maldives (BBM) returning as the title sponsor. The nomination period, which began on Friday, will last for one month, inviting resorts across the Maldives to submit entries via an online portal. This year’s edition introduces eight new team-based categories, emphasizing departmental excellence and collective performance within resort operations. Launched in 2024 as the first awards program exclusively dedicated to hospitality professionals in the Maldives, the awards aim to recognize individuals and teams whose expertise and dedication contribute to the success of Maldivian resorts. The 2025 edition saw over 450 nominations and 600,000 public votes, with winners selected through a combination of expert judging (60%) and public voting (40%). The 2026 awards will continue honoring outstanding hoteliers while expanding to include categories such as Sales & Marketing Team of the Year, Rooms Division Team of Year, HR & Training Team of Year, Engineering Team of Year, Finance Team of Year, F&B & Culinary Team of Year, Wellness Team of Year, and Support Team of Year.
