NSPA Provides $3.68 Million in Disability Support for July

The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) disbursed USD 3.68 million in financial assistance to persons with disabilities throughout July. This figure represents a slight decrease from the USD 3.75 million provided in June, reflecting the ongoing scale of the state's social safety net for vulnerable citizens.
According to NSPA statistics, the agency provided direct aid to 15,369 individuals during the month. The National Disability Registry continues to grow, with 63 new registrations in July, bringing the total number of registered persons to 15,549. Of these registered individuals, 8,996 are men and 6,553 are women.
Demographic data reveals that the majority of registered persons fall within the 18 to 64 age bracket, totaling 7,896 individuals. In terms of disability categories, physical disabilities are the most prevalent, affecting 4,227 registered persons. This is followed by those with multiple disabilities (3,520), psychological disabilities (2,435), and hearing and speech impairments (1,866).
Other registered categories include intellectual disabilities (1,820), visual impairments (1,030), autism (593), and learning disabilities (58). These classifications align with the official standards maintained by the NSPA's National Disability Registry.
Beyond direct financial grants, the NSPA invested approximately USD 314,518 in specialized medical treatments for 265 persons with disabilities in July. The vast majority of these recipients—256 individuals—were under the age of 18, highlighting a significant focus on early intervention and pediatric care.
The medical expenditures covered a wide range of therapeutic services. Speech therapy and occupational therapy were the most utilized, each costing approximately USD 84,306. Other critical services included behavioral therapy for 64 people (USD 77,821), educational therapy for 43 people (USD 50,132), and smaller allocations for psychotherapy, physiotherapy, and early intervention services.
Of the 265 individuals who received treatment assistance, 195 were men and 70 were women.
