Ooredoo Maldives Reports USD 11.15 Million Profit Amid Slight Revenue Decline

Business ·
Ooredoo Maldives recorded a net profit of USD 11.15 million for the second quarter of 2026, reflecting a modest decline in both quarterly and year-on-year performance. The results show a 3.9 percent dip from the preceding quarter and a slight contraction from the USD 11.61 million earned during the same period last year. Total revenue for the quarter fell to USD 34.76 million, down from USD 35.47 million generated in the first quarter of the year. This downward trend extended to earnings before taxes, which dropped to USD 13.16 million from the USD 13.62 million recorded in the previous period. The company operates through two primary business segments: mobile services and a division encompassing fixed-line, broadband internet, and enterprise solutions. The mobile services sector, the company's largest revenue driver, generated USD 24.64 million during the second quarter, a decrease from the USD 25.55 million reported in the first quarter. In contrast to the decline in mobile earnings, Ooredoo's fixed broadband business showed positive momentum. This segment brought in USD 10.05 million in the second quarter, marking a 2 percent increase over the USD 9.86 million recorded in the first quarter. These financial disclosures highlight a shifting trend within the company's portfolio, where growth in high-speed internet and enterprise services is helping to offset the slight softening of the traditional mobile market.
