More than 1,000 participants from across the globe converged on Hulhumalé Central Park for the annual Allied Hulhumalé Run. Organized by Allied Insurance, the event has rapidly evolved into a cornerstone of the local sporting calendar, drawing significant crowds over the last two years. This year's edition emphasized inclusivity and international camaraderie, featuring athletes from 28 different countries. Among the international contingent was a dedicated team of 22 runners who traveled from Bangkok, Thailand, to compete in the race. To accommodate runners of all skill levels, the event offered five distinct race categories. These ranged from a beginner-friendly 1-mile sprint and a 5-kilometre run to more challenging 10-kilometre and 21.1-kilometre half-marathon routes, ensuring that both casual joggers and seasoned endurance athletes could participate. Beyond the physical competition, the event integrated a digital engagement strategy through the “Share the Run” media campaign. This initiative encouraged participants to document their experiences on social media, leveraging personal storytelling to build momentum and public awareness for the upcoming 2026 event. Following the conclusion of the races, prizes were awarded to the most active contributors of the social media campaign. These rewards recognized those who shared the highest number of race-related stories, helping to amplify the spirit of the event and promote a culture of health and fitness within the community.
