Owners of Sinamale’ and Male’ Hiyaa Flats to Receive MVR 100,000

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced a financial relief package for residents of the Sinamale’ and Male’ Hiyaa flats who have fully settled their payments and now own their units. Each eligible family will receive MVR 100,000. This decision aims to address the deteriorating conditions of these buildings, which were constructed in the early 1990s. President Muizzu met with residents at his official residence, Mulee’aage, where they discussed challenges such as outstanding rent, penalties, and structural issues. The President also waived all penalties on outstanding rent, with payments capped at MVR 100,000 for amounts exceeding this figure. Residents who have already paid in full will receive the entire MVR 100,000 directly into their accounts.
