People's Majlis to launch electronic system for public opinion submission

Politics ·
The People's Majlis office has announced ongoing efforts to establish an electronic system to facilitate public opinion submission concerning parliamentary work. Developed in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), a briefing session on the system is scheduled for 3:30 pm on November 5, 2026. The Majlis office invited the general public, civil society organisations, and groups to attend the information-sharing and feedback meeting. Currently, public opinion on certain bills is collected via email, with notices shared through official social media and the website. However, participation has remained low, and officials believe the new electronic mechanism will encourage more citizens to submit their views. The Majlis previously introduced an electronic petition system, which has seen increased usage from citizens raising various concerns.
