The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced that the pile driving work for the finger jetties at the North Harbor of Malé will be completed by the end of next week. The project, valued at 18.98 million rufiyaa, involves the construction of three 25-metre long, 6-metre wide jetties and three 15-metre long, 6-metre wide jetties. Currently, reinforcement and rebar work is underway, and concrete work is expected to begin next week. MTCC stated that once completed, the jetties will provide significant convenience for the public and travelers, reducing congestion at the harbor, eliminating the need for passengers to transfer between vessels while at sea, and improving safety for children, the elderly, and those carrying luggage.
