PNC MP Falah says dollar could fall to MVR 10 if party stays in power for 15 years

The leader of the PNC's parliamentary group and MP for Ingiriye constituency, Ibrahim Falah, said today that if the party remains in power for two or three terms, the value of the dollar could drop to MVR 10. Speaking during a parliamentary session debating a no-confidence motion against Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed, Falah blamed the previous MDP government for the dollar's rise on the black market, claiming they pursued economic policies 'without any backing.' He alleged the MDP printed billions of dollars, consumed state funds, and took loans that did not generate revenue. Falah expressed full confidence in Minister Saeed, calling him the strongest minister in the government. The confidence motion was passed with 54 votes from PNC members.
