PNC MP Ibrahim Falaah Predicts Dollar Will Drop to 10 Rufiyaa if Government Stays in Power for 10-15 Years

PNC Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Falaah, representing the Ingaraidhoo constituency, stated today that if the current PNC government remains in power for 10 or 15 years, the dollar rate will fall to 10 Rufiyaa. Speaking during a parliamentary session regarding a no-confidence motion submitted by MDP members to remove Minister Mohamed Saeed from office, Falaah attributed the high dollar price and black market to the economic policies of the previous MDP government, which he said involved printing money. He also alleged that a large portion of state income during that time was lost to corruption and loans were taken without generating profit. In response to allegations about dollar shortages and black market sales, Minister Saeed stated that the current government has sold an additional 1.9 billion dollars at 80 percent more than the official rate released by the former administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
