Points awarded to applicants for Vilufushi row houses
Local News ·
The Housing Ministry has completed reviewing applications for the government’s row housing units in Th. Vilufushi and awarded points to applicants.
The ministry said applicants can now check the points they received by logging in to the Hiyaavehi Portal (hiyaavehi.housing.gov.mv).
Vilufushi, an island in Kolhumadulu Atoll with a population of more than 1,000, is receiving 100 housing units under the project. Work on the units began in 2014, but was halted for five years due to court proceedings before resuming in 2019. The row houses have now been completed.
The application window closed at the end of April this year, and more than 200 people applied. The ministry said points were awarded in line with government-set principles and criteria determined by the ministry. Applications were reviewed by a special committee comprising the ministry and a team selected from the island.
In a gazette announcement, the ministry said forms had been validated according to the principles for allocating the 100 units. Complaints about the awarded points may be submitted through the Hiyaavehi Portal within a 10-day window. The deadline is 10 November at 14:00. Complaints submitted through other channels or after the deadline will not be accepted, the ministry said.
The permanent list of beneficiaries will be published after complaints are reviewed.
