Police announce road and sea closures for Victory Day preparations in Republic Square

The Maldives Police Service has announced specific road and sea closures around Republic Square and its vicinity from October 31 to November 2, 2026, for Victory Day preparations. According to information released by the police, roads within the Republic Square area will be closed to general traffic from 15:30 daily until preparations are completed. The sea area up to 400 metres from the shore will also be closed from 15:00 each day. The affected roads include the route from the Fish Market area to the President's Office, and from the Islamic Centre to the President's Office. The police have requested that all persons traveling in the area fully comply with police instructions to support the progress of the events.
