The People's Majlis secretariat has postponed today's parliamentary sitting, originally scheduled for 9:00am, to 11:00am due to a power outage. In a message sent to media, the Majlis secretariat said today's sitting has been postponed to 11:00am due to a power cut at the secretariat. Power cuts have occurred at the secretariat before on days when parliament sits, and outages have also occurred during sittings. The main agenda for today's sitting is the passing of the budget and the debate on a government bill submitted by Funadhoo MP Mohamed Mamdhooh to amend the Criminal Procedure Act. Also on the agenda are matters that have reached the voting stage during the day's work, as well as matters put to a vote. Today's sitting, scheduled for 9:00am, is the third sitting of the first session of this year.
