STELCO, the state electricity company, has confirmed that power has been fully restored to all areas in Malé and Hulhumalé that experienced a service interruption due to an unspecified technical issue. The disruption began around 01:12 today, when STELCO reported that electricity service had been cut in some parts of the capital and the reclaimed island. The company stated that teams were immediately deployed to resolve the problem. In a subsequent update, STELCO announced that power had been restored to all affected areas. The company has not disclosed the cause of the outage. STELCO has apologized to customers for the inconvenience caused and has requested any customers still without power to contact their contact center at 1545.
