President Calls for Global Muslim Unity, Highlights Palestinian Suffering in Eid Message

In his Eid al-Fitr message, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu extended hopes for the empowerment, dignity, and prosperity of Muslims worldwide, while highlighting a time of "deep distress" for the global community. He specifically pointed to the ongoing suffering in Palestine and across the Middle East, affirming that the Maldivian people stand in solidarity with those affected.
The president conveyed his wishes for global peace and security for Muslims, emphasizing that the true spirit of Eid is found in devotion to God, gratitude, and compassion towards others. He urged citizens to use the occasion to strengthen personal and communal harmony while upholding Islamic values in their celebrations.
Reflecting on the holy month of Ramadan, President Muizzu encouraged the public to carry forward its lessons by speaking kindly, performing good deeds, and maintaining patience and unity. He also noted the significance of the six days of fasting observed in Shawwal, describing them as a reminder of the importance of sustained faith and devotion beyond Ramadan.
Concluding his address, the president prayed for the protection and success of Muslims globally and expressed hopes for a peaceful and prosperous year ahead for the Maldives.
