President Declares Republic Day Holiday on Next Thursday

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has designated next Thursday as a government holiday in connection with Republic Day. The Office of the President stated that this decision was made to ensure employees receive uninterrupted leave, given that November 11, which is Republic Day, is a national holiday, and the following day is an official holiday. The Office of the President has also scheduled the formal ceremony for this year's Republic Day celebrations to be held on the evening of Thursday, November 19, at 8:30 PM at Hulhumale Central Park. During this ceremony, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu will address the Maldivian nation. Special awards from the President for high achievers and service awards for serving the Maldivian state will also be presented during this ceremony.
