President Muizzu and CPC Delegation Discuss Deepening Maldives-China Economic Ties

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with a high-level delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) at the President’s Official Residence, Mulee’aage, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and expanding economic cooperation between the two nations. The delegation was led by Peng Xiubin, Director General of the Bureau for Southeast and South Asian Affairs at the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. During the courtesy call, Peng emphasized the shared values and robust people-to-people connections that form the foundation of the partnership between the Maldives and China. Peng commended President Muizzu’s commitment to national reform, noting that the achievements under the current administration provide a stable base for the Maldives’ continued development. He expressed optimism that both nations could elevate their relationship by fostering deeper economic ties and pursuing initiatives for mutual benefit. Highlighting the strength of the partnership, the Director General pointed to the frequency of high-level diplomatic exchanges as evidence of the close coordination between the two governments. President Muizzu expressed his gratitude for China’s enduring friendship and consistent support.
