President Muizzu and First Lady Attend Fishermen’s Day Festivities in Dhuvaafaru

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed visited R. Dhuvaafaru on Saturday morning to attend this year’s Fishermen’s Day celebrations. According to the President’s Office, the visit is a one-day trip. President Muizzu participated in various activities commemorating the occasion and attended the official evening function marking Fishermen’s Day. During his visit, he also launched several development projects and inaugurated completed initiatives in Dhuvaafaru. However, this year’s celebrations were overshadowed by protests from yellowfin fishermen frustrated by delays in the fulfillment of government pledges. Around 60 fishing boats gathered off Male’ in protest, which was finally dispersed by police a day later.
