President Muizzu and Saudi Fund CEO Agree to Expand Development Cooperation

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, held high-level talks on Tuesday to discuss expanding the development partnership between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia. The meeting took place during a courtesy call by CEO Al-Marshad at the President's official residence, Mulee’aage. The discussions focused on strengthening the bilateral ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation to support the Maldives' national growth and infrastructure needs. During the exchange, President Muizzu expressed his gratitude to the Saudi government and the SFD for their consistent support. He emphasized that the continued assistance from Saudi Arabia remains vital for the successful implementation of the Maldives' development agenda. CEO Al-Marshad underscored the strategic nature of the partnership, noting that the relationship between the Fund and the Maldives has flourished over several decades. He stressed the importance of maintaining and enhancing this long-term bond to ensure sustainable development across the archipelago. Both leaders reviewed the SFD's historical contributions to various development projects throughout the Maldives.
