President Mohamed Muizzu and a high-level delegation from Türkiye’s ruling Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi (AK Party) met at the official residence, Mulee’aage, to discuss strategic expansions in tourism, trade, and cultural cooperation. The discussions were led by AK Party Deputy Chairman Hüseyin Yayman, focusing on the longstanding diplomatic relationship between the two nations. Both parties explored concrete ways to strengthen economic ties, with a particular emphasis on leveraging the Maldives' tourism sector and expanding trade opportunities with the Turkish market. Beyond economics, the talks highlighted the potential for greater cultural exchange programs. These initiatives aim to foster a deeper mutual understanding between the people of the Maldives and Türkiye, bridging the gap through shared arts, education, and heritage projects. The meeting concluded with a mutual reaffirmation of commitment to deepening bilateral relations. By identifying areas of mutual interest, both the Maldivian government and the AK Party delegation intend to create a more robust framework for future collaboration, ensuring that the partnership translates into tangible benefits for both countries.
