President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Shuaib Yoosuf as a member of the Employment Tribunal, the body tasked with adjudicating labor and employment disputes across the Maldives. The appointment was formalized during a special ceremony held at the President’s Office. Before officially assuming his duties, Yoosuf took the oath of office, which was administered by Supreme Court Justice Ali Rasheed Hussain. Following the swearing-in ceremony, President Muizzu formally presented Yoosuf with his appointment letter. This administrative move strengthens the capacity of the tribunal to hear and resolve conflicts between employers and employees, ensuring a fair legal process for the workforce. The Employment Tribunal plays a critical role in the Maldivian legal system by providing a specialized forum for determining the legality of employment terminations and other workplace grievances, reducing the burden on the higher courts while ensuring professional standards in labor relations.
