President Muizzu Calls for Maldives-Sri Lanka Partnership to Boost Indian Ocean Economy

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has called for strengthened cooperation between the Maldives and Sri Lanka to maximize the economic potential of the Indian Ocean for the benefit of both nations' citizens. Speaking at a state banquet hosted by the Sri Lankan government, President Muizzu described the Indian Ocean not as a geographic boundary, but as a vital bridge connecting the history, culture, and economic futures of the two neighbors. He emphasized that by transforming the ocean from a mere merchant passage into a corridor of innovation and prosperity, both countries can ensure sustainable growth.
