President Muizzu Calls for Unity and Compassion in Hijri New Year Greetings

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended warm greetings and good wishes to heads of state, government leaders of Muslim nations, and heads of international Islamic organisations to mark the beginning of the Hijri New Year 1448 AH.
In a diplomatic message released by the President’s Office, President Muizzu described the occasion as a pivotal moment for deep personal reflection and a consideration of the broader state of the global community. He emphasized the need to prioritize compassion and set aside selfishness to cultivate a spirit of sincere, mutual assistance for the common good.
The President expressed his hope that the coming year would further fortify the faith of the Islamic Ummah. He offered prayers for lasting peace, prosperity, and solidarity, urging continued global efforts to secure bountiful blessings for all Muslim communities.
Addressing the citizens of the Maldives in a separate national message, President Muizzu highlighted that the progress and stability of the nation are built upon the inherent unity and brotherhood of its people. He called for the revival of the exemplary friendship and compassion demonstrated by the Ansar and the Muhajireen in al-Madinah centuries ago, urging Maldivians to apply these values within their own society today.
The President noted that genuine national development is only possible when citizens work with pure intentions toward a single, unified goal. He concluded his address by calling on all individuals to resolve to reform themselves and their society, urging them to distance themselves from negative influences and commit their hearts and souls to the path of goodness.
