President Muizzu Emphasizes Public Role in Tackling Immorality

Politics ·
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has highlighted the critical role of public attitudes and behaviors in reducing indecency and obscenity in society. In a social media post, he underscored that societal norms cannot be upheld without the public's alignment with them. This statement came as part of an announcement regarding the closure of 96 massage parlours operating under the guise of legitimate businesses, following a special operation launched on 9 December. The President pointed out that such illicit businesses thrive due to public demand. Citing a Quranic verse, he stressed that lasting societal change begins with individual transformation. To combat illegal foreign-run businesses, a National Task Force on Combating Illegal Expatriate Operations and Businesses has been established. This task force includes key ministries, police, and immigration authorities, working to investigate and suspend suspected illegal operations.
